Head of Battery System Europe, NIO Inc.
Dr. Frank Kindermann is the Head of Battery System Europe for NIO, based in Munich. He and his strong team of 9 act as boots on the ground in Europe with a range of activities from software development to technology scouting. While the main focus is on battery monitoring and BMS function development, he and his team also cover topics from cell analysis to recycling.
Frank has a background in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, where he spent his entire academic career. Prior to joining NIO, Frank was a technical project and team leader in cell development and application at a German premium OEM. In total, Frank has been working with lithium-ion batteries for 13 years.
Research Director, IDTechEx
Dr. Alex Holland is a Research Director at market intelligence company IDTechEx. He has helped develop and expand IDTechEx’s coverage of Li-ion batteries, future battery and energy storage technologies, energy storage markets, green hydrogen, and material demand outlooks. Prior to joining IDTechEx in 2019, Alex completed his PhD in electrochemical engineering from the University of Southampton and worked as an analyst at a renewable energy supplier.
Technical Solution Engineer, TWAICE Battery Analytics
Marie Sayegh is Technical Solutions Engineer at TWAICE Battery Analytics since 2023. She has a Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Control and Data Processing from the Lebanese University, and PhD degree from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France.
Marie has more than 10 years experience in battery's modelling and testing, and in developing Battery Management System algorithms especially State indicators such as State of Charge and State of Health.

Simon is an engineer and entrepreneur who is contributing to pushing the technological boundaries of battery technology and e-mobility. Initially trained by the PEM institute at RWTH Aachen University, Simon leveraged this expertise to develop and launch the CELLFAB battery pilot production line at RWTH. In his roles as Managing Director of the Electromobility Laboratory (eLab) and the Office for E-Mobility at RWTH Aachen, he supported the initiation and guided partners for successful research-industry collaboration. In his pursuit of informing professionals and the public about innovation pathways, Simon continues with the ‘E-Mobility Innovation Podcast’. Recently Simon founded BETTERE®, an engineering and consultancy firm providing operational and strategic support building upon a network of renowned, independent experts in the field of battery and E-Mobility engineering.
Dr. Till Wolfram is the Founder and CEO of Wolfram Chemie GmbH, specializing in R&D and consulting for SMEs on carbon materials, electromobility, and sustainable technologies. With a PhD in Heterogeneous Catalysis from the Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, he has extensive experience in process development and chemical lab services. Dr. Wolfram has a strong background in market analysis and technology evaluation.
Currently, Dr. Wolfram is leading a project on the development of a sustainable cleaning process for the extraction of high-purity graphite from the black mass of used batteries for recycling in new batteries.
